Alain Weisz to coach SLUC Nancy

SLUC Nancy Basket Pro from France’s ProA will have a new head coach next season. They are bringing in Alain Weisz to take over the coaching duties from Jean-Luc Monschau. Monschau has been Nancy’s head coach since 2004 and led them to two French ProA Championships, one in 2008 and another in 2011.

Weisz is coming off a one-season stint coaching for Olympique Antibe from France’s ProB. Before that he spent five seasons at the helm of another French team, Hyeres-Toulon Var Basket. In 2008 he was able to lead Hyeres-Toulon to the French La Sermaine  des As Cup Semifinals in 2008. Weisz was also the head coach of the French National team from 2000 to 2003 and also the Senegalese National Team head coach in 2011.
