Akeem Wright (200 cm, Kansas State’07) is taking his game to Cyprus this 2016-17 after landing a deal with Cytavision Apoel Nicosia (Cyrpus-Division A). The 31-year-old veteran began the 2015-16 season playing for Pyrinto Tampere from Finland’s Korisliiga. He logged 14 games for them and averaged 14.1 ppg and 7.4 rpg. In January he moved to Canada where he signed with the London Lightning (Canada-NBL). Wright would go on to play 48 games for the Lightning and he dropped averages of 14.6 ppg and 6.2 rpg. He helped his team win the NBL Central Division championship and make it to the league finals in 2016.
