Advice from a veteran

Rubén Wolkowyski, a player with many years under his belt, still has it after so much time on the court. He feels the same as when he played in the NBA or won the gold medal for Argentina in Athens.

But, besides his youthful outlook, his maturity shines through: “I need to enjoy what is left of my career. I spent many years being worried, feeling horrible when things didn’t turn out well. It dawned on me that all you can do is prepare for the next game and stop burdening yourself. Beating yourself up about things doesn’t help at all. You have to accept some things as they are and not let them keep you up at night or make you sick. Thank God that I learned this quickly enough. Now, I am enjoying basketball, training, I love it…”

Rubén looked enthusiastic about the team La Union Formosa. “I think it is great. I always have high expectations at the beginning of a season.  Hard work can lead to great results. We have to work more as a team this year. All of my success is from working with my team.”
