7Days EuroCup: Italian Clubs Pull Out, are Replaced

7Days EuroCup It appears that the rift between FIBA and Euroleague basketball is still pretty wide. There has been a change in the lineup of teams participating in the 7Days EuroCup 2016-17 season. The four Italian clubs which were originally slated to play in the competition have renounced their participation in the event. The Italian basketball federation has opted for those clubs to play in the FIBA Basketball Champions league next season. If the teams decided to proceed with their participation in the EuroCup, they would face a season-long suspension.

Replacement participating teams have been announced and assigned to their respective groups (photo above). Montakit Fuenlabrada (Spain), Lietkabelis Panevezys (Lithuania), Krasny Oktyabr Volgograd (Russia), and MZT Skopje Aerodrom (FYR Macedonia) have selected to replace the Italian teams for this season.
