7Days EuroCup heats up with no team left unbeaten

EuroCup

Competition in the 7Days EuroCup heated up in Round 6 as there was no team left with an undefeated record after the dust settled. Five teams have 5-1 records and are at the cusp of cracking into the Top-16. They are Promitheas, Partizan, Virtus Bologna, Unics Kazan, and Unicaja Malaga. A 6-0 record would have been a lock to make it through, but Partizan was denied that luxury when the lost to Venezia 69-83.

One of the more exciting games coming out of Wednesday night’s action was between Joventut Badalona and JSF Nanterre. Nenad Dimitrijevic exploded for a career-best 23 points to power Joventut to their 79-77 win. His phenomenal work on the court set the tone for his team’s effort on the night.

They gutted it out and set the stage for their top performer to come up with the big play in the dying seconds of the game. Dimitrijevic was able to evade his defender and drove to the hoop. He drew contact and was able to finish at the rim. He sank his bonus shot to give his team the two-point win.

Joventut improves to 4-2 and is now sitting comfortably in second place. The win was extra special for them as the team managed to come together and overcome the adversity of missing their top scorer in Klemen Prepelic, who sidelined in this contest.

Nanterre was able to show some impressive teamwork, putting up a balanced attack with five players scoring in double figures, led by the 16 points of Spencer Butterfield.

There’s so much more entertaining and exciting basketball action to enjoy in the 7Days EuroCup as teams jockey for position to make into the Top-16.
