7DAYS EuroCup: Group C action on Tuesday

Round 3 of 7DAYS EuroCup is underway and there were three games on Tuesday to usher in the week’s action. Fans of Group C clubs were catered for with a full schedule of games from the group during the evening.

The action was characterized by three away wins. Lokomotiv stayed untouched to take out Lietuvos Rytas, while Partizan Belgrade passed Bilbao. Elsewhere in the 7DAYS EuroCup, ALBA Berlin took out Limoges in France.

Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius vs. Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, 85-93 OT

Lokomotiv collected an important road win over Lietuvos Rytas to remain undefeated with a 3-0 record at the top of Group C. The Russians trailed 21-18 after the first quarter, but used a 22-25 second act to tie the game at 43 points apiece through the long break. The Lithuanian hots used another 21-18 run to take the third act and lead 64-61 through thirty minutes. However, Lokomotiv took the momentum in the fourth and managed to lock the scoreboard 81-81 through regulation time. In the overtime period, the visitors had the wind in its attack sails and topped the OT 4-12 to win the game.

Bilbao Basket vs. Partizan Belgrade, 92-96

Partizan collected its first 7DAYS EuroCup victory of the season with a strong second half that reeled in a leading Bilbao, leaving both clubs on 1-2 records. The Spanish hosts were strong offensively in the first half, winning the first quarter 26-21 and the second quarter 23-21. At the midway buzzer, the hosts held a solid 49-42 lead. However, Bilboa struggled to continue its hot streak at the bucket and Partizan pounced with a 19-24 run in the third frame, leaving the board at 68-66 with the final period to come. In the fourth quarter, Belgrade drove home its initiative to secure a comeback victory.

Limoges CSP vs. ALBA Berlin, 65-73

ALBA Berlin bounced back from a loss last week to defeat Limoges, leaving the French champs with a 1-2 record while moving to 2-1 on its own charts. The German club struggled to get going, allowing the hosts to take a 20-15 lead after 10 minutes. Berlin soon got into a scoring rhythm, taking a 14-23 run to make it 34-38 through the long break. The scoring slowed in the third act, but a 13-16 run for ALBA allowed the visitors a 47-54 advantage through thirty minutes. With the momentum, the guests held firm and claimed the success.
