Starter of the Romanian NT. A tall player for his position who is all-round and can run, dribble, and pass. He has a very good inside-outside game which helps him to dominate any game and opponent. Very smart, he knows when to change his game at the both ends of the court. He is like a chameleon, he makes adjustments during the game depending on his direct opponent. If his opponent is stronger and slower Catalin runs very fast to the 3 point line and forces his opponent to keep up with him. If he cannot shoot the 3 then he goes back under the basket with full speed and gets a foul or even a 3 point play. Sharp shooter, he scores easily coming off screens. Good fundamentals and a high basketball intelligence. Catalin Burlacu was the most versatile player in the Romanian first league in the last 3 years. He plays with a lot of confidence in and out, he is able to shoot the 3-pointer also with a lot of confidence, having percentages even bigger than the guards on the team. Good rebounder. Catalin also plays underneath the basket with his overall skills. Good (interior) passer. Has a very good post up game as well and has a variety of moves on the inside. Good work ethic.
