He has spent the summer of 2008 working out with the Los Angeles Lakers, where they have used him as both a 2 and a 1. He is a good-sized 2-guard who can get his own shot or attack the basket (he excels in the transition fast break game) or he can also run the point, using his athleticism to create shots for his teammates. A 4-year starter (he started 111 of 114 games in his college career), in the West Coast Conference for Portland University, Donald Wilson is a basketball player, who also happens to be an excellent athlete. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Wilson, is a team-player, who will do whatever his coach asks, whether it is to guard the opposition's top scorer, crash the boards, make hustle plays or score. While he has the athleticism to play over the rim (52-feet-2 inches in the triple jump in high school), Wilson can shoot it from deep (over 45% 3fg as a junior), but usually scores with his mid-range pull-up jumper.
