| Mithat Demirel is an incredibly experienced point guard. Not only has he played almost 40 Euroleague games but has also led the German National team to its success of recent years, ending up 4th at the European championships in Turkey, winning the bronze in Indianapolis in the World Championships, and most recently the silver in Belgrade 2005. Mithat is very quick wether its running the break, coming off picks, or penetrating the lane. With all his experience he has become the ultimate floor leader. He knows when to speed up and when to slow down. He knows who to find on offence and how to get him involved. And he is the perfect right hand man for any coach. Mithat is an excellent passer, especially after beating his man and getting into the lane. He posseses a good mid range jumper (also off the dribble) and a deadly three point shot. When he sees the whole he will dive in and go for the lay up. Defensively has learned to pressure full court and is able to drive opposing points crazy. All the above skills and experience make Mithat an extremely interesting player for any level. What sets him even further apart is the fact that he is tough as nails. He will fight, hustle, scratch and claw his way to a win and will do whatever it takes. On many occasions Mithat has decided games in the very last second when the pressure was on. Mithat was voted player of the year in Germany in 2003. |
