Very allround PF that knows how to play in the post and face up the basket. Is a very good shooter with long range. Has a very nice turnaround jumper from the post. Smart player that knows when to make the pass, and is an above average passer from the post. Good drive to the basket, likes to make contact and draw the foul and get to the freethrow-line, where he is a good shooter for a bigman. Soltau is not all offense though, smart defensive player and a good rebounder who goes after every rebound. Runs the flor very well for a man his size. Despite turning only 25 years old in 2008, Thomas has already had a long career. When 17 years old was offered a contract by FC Barcelona in Spain, which he decided to decline after beeing recruited by several NCAA Division 1 schools, he choosed Northwestern University in the Big Ten. In his sophomore year Thomas returned to Europe to sign with Benetton Treviso in Italy where he became an Italian champion and Euroleague finalist. Thomas have after that spent time in Germany D1 and D2 for a few years before he signed in Iceland with Keflavik, and became a part of their FIBA Eurocup Challenge team, where he in the FIBA Competition averaged 22,7 ppg (2nd overall) and 8 rpg (8th overall) and was the best scoring bigman of the cup as well as best scoring european. Then signed for Norrköping that same season and helped them out alot in the swedish league. Is a key member of the danish national team, and currently starting PF. Played in Court Sides Pro Camp in Frankfurt in 2008 and lead the camp in Scoring (24,0 ppg) and in Efficiency, as well as finishing tied third in rebounds.
