| Obadiah “Obie” Trotter is an American Point Guard with his roots in Alabama. A excellent defensive player named to NCAA All-American Defensive Team by Collegeinsider.com in 2006 after his senior campaign at Alabama A&M where he served as a 4-year star (Two time All-SWAC First Team, two time All-SWAC Defensive Team and one time SWAC Player of the Year). Trotter obviously is a high level defender, but already in college he showed his offensive game, scoring 19 ppg in the NCAA Division 1 his senior year. He has since then moved on to play in Germanys Bundesliga for 2 season and spent a year in Pro-B in France, before most recently joining ToPo Helsinki in Finland, where he became a dominant player in the Finnish league, on both ends of the floor. Trotter is very good at getting in to the lane where he can find his way to the basket for the score, or find the open man. A good shooter that can really shoot the three ball. A really good rebounder for a Point Guard. Excellent on ball defender, 3 steals per game in Finland. Trotter who showed off his all-round game in Finland after being more of a role player his first years in Europe, is ready to move up back to the higher rankings of European basketball, and this 2-way player most definitely have the upside to play at a high level. Named Guard of the Year in Finland as well as to All Finnish League 1st team and All Imports 1st team in the 09-10 season. At the end of the 2010-college season Obie Trotter was named SWAC Conference Player of the Decade (2000-2010). Lead his ToPo to the finals of the Finnish Playoffs in 2010-2011. |
