| Nigel is a typical power forward/center who's able to play facing- and back to the basket. Owns good post moves and possesses great touch for an inside player. His shooting range is appr. 20 feet and in. Moves well around pponents in the lane and has better lateral quickness than most players at his size. Good athlete who is an above average shotblocker. A terrific rebounder at both ends of the floor because of his instinctive skills on the glass. Good post defender at both inside positions because of his footspeed and positioning. Prefers to play at the PF-position in defense. Was named Defensive Player of the Year in the Northeast Conference and being named First team All-Conference. Made his presence felt defensively in his senior year in college, not only as a shotblocker but as a deterrent to would-be penetrators. His ability to shut down premier inside players in the NEC was hard to overlook and that's why he did get the honors as mentioned above. Nigel was the only player in the conference to average double-double for the regular season with 13,4ppg and a league-leading 10,4rpg, which ranks him in the top tem nationally in the NCAA! Nigel had 11 double-doubles in his senior year. Among those, he has compiled two 20-point, 20 rebound games this season and is one of just three players nationally with multiple 20-rebound performances in 2003-'04. Improved his overall game during his first season overseas under Belgian coach Paul Vervaeck at Cape Holland/Den Helder. Was forced to leave Cape Holland/Den Helder in his second season due to the bankruptcy of the club in January 2.006. Signed in the LEB-2 in Spain first and joined Bruesa right before the play-offs in the LEB-1. They won the LEB-1 championship and Nigel played in all 8 games (appr. 18 minutes per contest). Played the 2007-'08 season in LEB-silver. Won the league championship with PSG this season (2008-'09) in Pro B and to move up to Pro A. |
