Steven had a good rookie season in the German BBL playing for the NY Phantoms Braunschweig being their starting PG for the most part of the season and leading them to 9th place after finishing 14th the season before. His aggresive defense led to 1,6 steals a game which was 8th best in the league. He feels equally comfortable playing both guard positions. After leading Northern Kentucky to a 24-9 record during the 06/07 season, winning the conference title and regional finals, Steven was named first team NCAA Division II All-American. He transferred 2006 from Bowling Green State University (NCAA 1) to Northern Kentucky (NCAA 2). At Bowling Green Steven was a three-year letterwinner for the Falcons he averaging 11.4 points per game in 2005/06. In his career at Bowling Green, he started 67 games and scored 737 points in three seasons while starting all 29 games as a sophomore and was third on the team in scoring (11.1 ppg), second in assists and first in steals. Steven is an extremely athletic combo guard with great quickness, explosive leaping ability, and great ballhandling and passing skills. He hurts you with his penetration or a pull up for the mid ranged jumper, pick and roll, coming off picks for the shot, and when left open he'll hit the three pointer also. At the same time he is a unselfish player who creates scoring opportunities for others. Very good ability to finish around the basket. Great defensive player because of his quickness and athletic abilities. Great and mature person with good work ethic. After the Braunschweig stint Steven stayed in the BBL and filled roles for coach Doug Spradley at Paderborn (08-09) and coach Igor Perovic in Tübingen (09-10).
