| Latece is an inside player who can play both inside positions. Real physical inside presence. Was used to draw the toughest defensive assignment in the front court while in college. Hardly fouled out tough. Plays very strong defensive and positions well. Plays good help side and knows how to anticipate in defense. Has good lateral foot speed. Runs the floor very well and is a good athlete in general. Can shoot form 12-15 feet and in but feels more comfortable closer to the basket. Real good leaper and a crowd pleaser because of his jumping ability. Proved to be an excellent rebounder at both ends of the floor, especially in offense. Really goes hard to the glass! Was a certain kind of role player in college playing besides players like Tamar Slay (currently in the NBA with the New Jersey Nets), but did blossom immediately in Lebanon because of his upside & potential. Became the second leading rebounder overall in the Lebanese Pro League as a "rookie". Very coachable player with great workethic! After the season ended in Lebanon, where he started as a rookie coming out of college, Ricoh/Amsterdam (The Netherlands) signed him as their third American (early March 2003). In 7 regular league games, Latece pleayed 11,3 minutes per game. However, during the Play-Offs he did play 21,4 minutes per game and grabbed 9,2rpg. Signed with Cape Holland/Den Helder for the 2003-'04 season and played center for them most of the time. During the 2004/05 season he led MBC to the Championship in the German 3rd division. Was a very special situation because of the position of the club after their bankruptcy in May 2004. Stats mentioned from Neptunas Klaipeda are from the Baltic League in which Latece was having a great season. He left Rumania throughout pre-season in 2006 due to an injury and he took his time to recover completely. Recently he played for the Cartersville Warriors in the SEBL (not ABA, mentioned stats are from the SEBL). Latece proved that he is fully recoved and ready to play overseas again. Is in very good shape! |
