Omni Smith had one of the biggest solo performances of the 2006-2007 NCAA season when he exploded for 33 points against Duke in an ESPN nationally televised game. He was 14-20 from the field and 5-8 from the 3-point line, in that game, a 79-72 Duke victory. Omni kept Kent State in the game throughout; his 33 points were the highest total by a Duke opponent this season. Smith averaged 13,9 points per game this season, shooting 42% from the field and 34% from 3 (he also scored 30 points this season against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi).
