He can run and jump with the best of them and creates problems for oponents with that aspect alone. Added to those physical skills are technically well developed post moves, the ability to face up and penetrate, as well as the abilty to shoot as far as three point range. Defensively Dirk is strong and quick enough to defend both the center and the power forward position. He is a good rebounder and shotblocker as well. Dirk started his career in Braunschweig but moved to Bamberg for the 2004/05 campaign where he became German Champion under coach Dirk Bauermann. During that year Dirk also played 2nd Bundesliga with a double license and played 13 games for Breitengrussbach. After that season he moved back to Braunschweig and played the 2005/06 season there while also playing for the A2 national team. For the 2006/07 season moved to Strasbourg and played Pro A and Uleb Cup with them (Uleb: 4.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 58% two's in 12 mpg). Moved back to Germany playing for Quakenbruck and put another year of ULEB Cup under his belt.
