Guido racks up this impressive list although still being relatively young. He is extremely athletic and skilled at the same time. Guido plays above the rim and can finish strong from the post but also when taking an opponent off the dribble. He can often beat his guy when facing up because his defender has to play him close as guido has excellent range on his shot, making him a three point threat as well. Defensively he is fundamentally very sound and positions well. On both ends of the floor he is an above average rebounder because of his intensity, athleticism, and work ethic. Guido started to show what he can do in the lower divisions in Germany back in 1999/00 in his hometown Jena. His potential was quickly recognised and he moved to German powerhouse ALBA Berlin where he played several years for the 1st team as well as for their farm team TusLi. His last year at ALBA (04/05) he got his feet wet internationally and received some minutes in the ULEB Cup. The year after he moved to Cologne under Sasa Obradovic where he was integrated in a major role off the bench. This year he racked up FIBA EuroCup minutes (7,2 ppg and 3,7 rpg) and was crowned National Champion of Germany at the end of the season. This granted Cologne and Guide EUROLEAGUE access for the season after (06/07). In an up and down season Guido managed to average 3ppg and 2,2 rpg in limited EUROLEAGUE minutes. The year after he moved to neighboring country Holland and joined ULEB Cup participants Groningen where Guido was a starter and showed he is a bonafide ULEB Cup level player: In 10 ULEB Cup games he averaged 12,3 ppg and 5,7 rpg! Guido also has been carrying the black-red-yellow national colors for years playing in the national youth teams but the A1 senior team as well, attending world- and European Championships alike. Backing up Nowitzki and fellow Court Side's Sven Schultze, his minutes have been limited but the future looks Grün.
