| Ray Nixon is versatile! At 202 cms he is tall for a shooting guard, and also for a small forward. He will use that to his advantage posting up but also it makes it easy for Ray to find daylight to get off a shot even when defended well. At the power forward position he is often too quick to be guarded by the opponent’s 4 man. His most dangerous weapon is his 3point shot which he uses often (during the 2007/08 season shooting almost 2,5 times as many 3pointers as opposed to 2point shots). That is not to say Ray is solely a spot up shooter. He is extremely athletic (won the dunk contest during the German All Star game in 2008), has a great wing span, penetrates and finishes often spectacularly, rebounds well, and because of his speed and agility is a tough defender. A graduate of Wisconsin University (NCAA Tournament Elite 8 in 2005), Ray started his professional career in Germany with the Tübingen Tigers in 2006 where he played both the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons. Between both seasons he worked out for the Milwaukee Bucks but didn’t make the team. Born in 1984, Ray is young, has incredible upside, and has all the tools to make it big very soon. |
