| Demond Greene is a strong 2/1 guard with incredible athletic ability and a deadly jumper from mid and long range. His natural position is the off-guard position but Demond can help out on the point. On several occassions he has been known to even guard small-forwards and power forwards who are 20 cm taller. He can do so because of his physical strength. With this extremely strong physique he not only doesn't hesitate to, but it seems he prefers to mix it up in the lane with penetrations and finishes. To keep guys honest he is able to put it on the floor and pull up for mid-range jumpshots. Certainly do not leave him open behind the three point line because he will make you pay, shooting nearly 35% from beyond the arc his last three years in Leverkusen. Can't foul him either because he converts almost 83% of his free throws. Proving that he is the total offensive package he ended the 03/04 campaign as the 2nd leading scorer in the Bundesliga with 20,5 ppg and led Leverkusen into the play-offs. Off course this didn't go unnoticed and National Team coach Dirk Bauerman hurried to add Demond to the NT selection. Once there, together with Dirk Nowitzki and Ademola Okulaja, he led the team during the summer of 2004 to an easy qualification for Euro 2005. Once at the European Championships in Belgrade he established himself as one of Europe's top players starting the entire campaign and winning the silver medal. In addition Demond has fine tuned his defensive skills to a T and is often asked to guard the oponent's best offensive threat wether that is the point, the off guard, or as mentioned above, the small forward and at times the power forward. All this certainly has helped him become a shoe-in the past three years for the German All-Star game. At age 25 Demond Greene has incredible upside and would be a great addition to any team. Played very well at the World Championship of 2006 in Japan where he was Germany's third leading scorer and got most playing time behind Nowitski. Scored almost 10 ppg during the 2007/08 Euroleague season for Bamberg while shooting 40% three's. |
