| Rod Earls is a combo-guard who knows how to score. Can really create his own shot of the dribble. Likes to pull up for a mid-range jumper, but is also very capable of taking the ball to the basket, using a good upperbody strenght and control to draw the contact and finish the play. Moves extremley well of the ball and is a good shooter of the catch. Has a nice and quick release on his shot along with a good range (Shot 40% from threepointland his junior year). Very quick and will blow by defenders. A good passer that get's in to the lane and is good at finding the open man for the kickout pass. Earls was Tulsa's leading scorer during his junior year when he averaged 11,2 ppg, and earned 3rd Team C-USA honours. Rod had a good senior year as well, his stats dropped down a bit playing for such a well balanced offensive team, but did very well in the role he had on the team. Tulsa lost only to Derrick Rose's (First Pick Overall in 2008 NBA Draft) Memphis (That went to the Final Four) in the Conference-USA Tournament, which prevented then from playing in the NCAA Tournament. Played a huge part in Tulsas success in winning the College Basketball Tournament 2008, scored 14 points in the 3rd and decisive game in the finals against Bradley. |
