With a silky smooth touch he is extremely dangeroug from the outside, difficult to guard, and impossible to leave open. In addition Maris can take opponents off the dribble as well as post them up on the block. He is a very skilled player and knows how to get to the rim with several options. Off the dribble he can pull up at any time but can also get closer with crossover- as well as spindribbles. This fact is just not often seen with players his height. Maris also rebounds well at both ends of the court and is a fundamentally sound and a well-educated defender. Maris enjoyed four years of basketball education in the States going to Providence (didn't play much his senior year playing behind Ryan Gomes [now with the Timberwolves]) in 2000 after leading the World Championships for U18 teams in 3point% with a blistering 53%. Afer college Maris played in several leagues at a high level always creating match up problems for opponents. Maris is still young and will be a great addition to any team.
