Steven Burtt (189 cm, Iona ’06) inked a deal to play for AS Apollon Patra (Greece-A1). The American guard has not played with a team this season but last appeared with Guizhou (China-NBL). He really showed his scoring capabilities in China with 26.3 ppg and 5.3 apg in 35 games. Apollon Patras will look for him to score a lot as they are currently in the cellar of the A1 with a 4-12 record. This will be Burtt’s first appearance in Greece. He spent time playing in China, Puerto Rico, Lebanon, Turkey, and Russia since the 2012/2013 season.
This is Burtt’s eleventh year playing pro since graduating from Iona. While in school, Burtt was a big part of Iona’s offensive attack. He averaged 25.1 ppg in his senior season and finished his career with the second-most points scored in the school’s history. The only player better was his father.
