As World Cup 2014 fever heats up, more and more teams are doing their best to get as much preparation done for the event. Four national teams came to Belgrade, Serbia to participate in a friendly tournament to do just that. Hosts Serbia were joined by Turkey, Argentina and Puerto Rico. At the end of the event, Serbia defeated Turkey 79-64 to take home the trophy. Puerto Rico beat Argentina 97-87 to clinch third place.

Despite missing a couple of key players such as Milos Teodosic and Nemanja Nedovic, Serbia managed to maintain solid form throughout the game and still executed their offense quite well. They got into their rhythm early and ended the first half with an eight point lead, 39-31. Turkey tried to eat into the lead in the final period, but Serbia held strong and managed to stave off any serious threat to their lead.

Bogdan Bogdanovic and Rasko Katic led the host team to victory, posting 13 points each. Stefan Markovic and Miroslav Raduljica added 12 points apiece. Cenk Akyol was Turkey’s top scorer with 11 points.
