Ikaros inks Senegalese Mouhammad Faye

Ikaros announced signing of Mouhammad Faye for the upcoming season. The Senegalese big guy spent the last one with French ProA team Hyeres-Toulon Var Basket. He appeared 28 times in the league collecting 12 ppg and 5 rpg. Before Hyeres -Toulon, Faye played one season for the NBA D-League team Rio Grande Valley Vipers. With them he had 10.7 ppg and 5.8 rpg for 55 games. The Vipers reached D-League Finals and Faye was named USBasket.com All-D-League Import Player of the Year -11. It was the first professional season for Mouhammad Faye, who graduated at Southern Methodist University two years ago.
Mouhammad Faye is active member of the Senegalese National Team since 2007. The player exploded at 2011 AfroBasket in Madagascar with 21.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg and 2.4 apg for 7 games. He was the top scorer of the competition and was named Africabasket.com All-African Championships Best Forward -11.
