Scotty Hopson picked up by Ironi Nahariya

Scotty Hopson

Scotty Hopson (200 cm, Tennessee ’11) will be joining Ironi Nahariya (Israel-Winner League). The American swingman played with Cedevita (Croatia-A1) earlier this season for seven games. He played well in his time in Croatia, while averaging 17.9 ppg and shooting 47.4 percent from three. Hopson’s specialty is putting the ball in the bucket, and he has experience doing so in Israel. In the 2012/2013 season, Hopson suited up for Hapoel Eilat and scored 17.7 ppg in 32.3 mpg. The league voted him to the All-Israeli League first team for his impressive season. Ironi Nahariya hopes Hopson can continue his success in the Israeli league as they look to make a late-season run. Currently, the team is in ninth place in the Winner league with an 8-10 record.

Hopson played for the Tennessee Volunteers from 2008-2011 then played in Europe for two seasons. In the 2014/2014 season, the Cleveland Cavaliers decided to sign him and assigned him to their D-League team, Canton Charge. The Cavs brought him up to play with the NBA team for two games before trading him to Charlotte. He did not play in the NBA again after the trade and moved his game back to Europe.
