Pops Mensah-Bonsu added by Galatasaray

British veteran Pops Mensah-Bonsu (206 cm, George Washington’06) has been picked up by Turkish club Galatasaray Liv Hospital Istanbul not too long after he was released by the Washington Wizards earlier this month.

Pops is no stranger to European hoops and in fact played for a couple of European teams in the 2012-13 season. He was initially on the roster of Maccabi Electra Tel-Aviv, but was only with the club for the preseason. Pops then moved to Spain’s Liga Endesa where he suited up for Cajasol Banca Civica Sevilla. In six games he averaged 6.3 ppg and 4.8 rpg. In April 2013 he moved to Cimberio Varese from Italy’s SerieA and then later agreed with EA7 Emporio Armani, from the same league. He played nine games for Armani and averaged 8.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg.
