Deteri Mayes won the title with Gmunden
Deteri Mayes stays with Gmunden

Deteri Mayes has extended his contract for 2 more seasons with brand new Austrian champion Gmunden Swans. The 6'3 off guard, who obtained his Austrian passport last year, did have a lot of teams from all over Europe being seriously interested in his services but decided to stay with Gmunden

Deteri Mayes is an excellent off guard with good overall fundamentals. He is known for his creativity and scoring against high percentages. Several teams from all over Europe showed great interest in him beucause of his Bosman-A status (Austrian passport) but he couldn't resist a good offer from Gmunden for the next 2 seasons. The former Murray State stand-out had an impressive 2004-2005 season by winning the club's first championship while averaging 24,5 ppg (59,4% FG), 3,9 rpg, 40,7% from behind the arc and 84,0% from the line in 39 games overall.
