Jason Thompson (211 cm, Rider’08) has bid goodbye to the NBA and will be playing in China this 2016-17 season. Thompson has reached an agreement with the Shandong Flaming Bulls from China’s CBA. The veteran big man has spent most of his pro career with the Sacramento Kings, the team that drafted him 12th overall in the 2008 NBA draft. His 2015-16 season was split between two NBA clubs. Jason started off playing for the Golden State Warriors, where he averaged 2.1 ppg and 1.9 rpg in 28 games. He was cut by the team in February 2016 and then found his way to the Toronto Raptors. Thompson wound up playing 29 games for the Raptors and posted averages of 3.3 ppg and 3.1 rpg.
