Diamon Simpson inks with Ironi Nes-Ziona

Diamon Simpson (201 cm, St. Mary’s California’09) has been picked up by Israel Winner League team Ironi Nes-Ziona for the 2013-14 season. The 26-year-old Simpson is no stranger to the Israeli league having played for Maccabi Ashdod in 2012-13. In 27 games for Maccabi Ashdod Diamon was able to post averages of 17.6 ppg and 8.3 rpg and also helped his team reach the Israeli Cup semifinals in 2013.

In 2011-12 he played in Australia’s NBL for the Adelaide 36ers. He averaged 14.3 ppg and a league-leading 8.6 rpg. In April 2012 he was added by the Houston Rockets, but unfortunately drew DNP for the NBA team.
