Cheikh Mbodj heading to Torun

Cheikh Mbodj (208 cm, Cincinnati ’13) agreed to join Polski Cukier Torun (Poland-PLK). Mbodj will join a Torun team that is currently fourth in the PLK standings with a 16-8 record. The addition of the big man will bring in another shot blocker and defensive presence at the rim. He averaged 1.1 bpg in 17.6 mpg with his former team, BK Ventspils (Latvia-LBL). This season was the only one with Ventspils for the Senegalese while appearing in just 14 games.

This is a return to the PLK for Mbodj. Last season, Energia Czarni (Poland-PLK) gave Mbodj a roster spot. He averaged 11.5 ppg, 6.1 rpg and 1.4 bpg in 22.5 mpg with the team last season. Look for Mbodj to contribute to Torun in similar fashion for the stretch run of the PLK season.
