Zoran Lukic extends with Novgorod

Zoran Lukic will be staying in Russia after PBL and VTB United League team BC Nizhny Novgorod extended his contract as head coach. The Serbian guided Novgorod to a lowly 8th in the Russian PBL this season with a record 8-10. The tactician will now stay at the helm of the club after extending his contract for two seasons up to 2015.

Last season under Zoran Lukic Novgorod made the quarterfinals of the VTB United League but it was perhaps 2011 that has been the highlight of the coaches four seasons with the club. During the 2010-2011 season Nizhny Novogorod made the Russian Cup final under Lukic’s stewardship. A personal highlight also came during that campaign as Lukic coached to victory in the 2011 Russian PBL All-Star game.
