Zarko Rakocevic and BC Zepter Vienna part ways

Zarko RakocevicZarko Rakocevic (204 cm) has agreed to part ways with his club BC Zepter Vienna. There had been rumors around the Austrian league for weeks but it appears the split is now official. With three games left in the first stage of the Austrian championship Rakocevic will leave Vienna. The big man from Montenegro played 15 games for Vienna this season and averaged 16.6 ppg along with 6.6 rpg while shooting 56.2% from the field. Zarko Rakocevic has enjoyed a long career of which most seasons he played in the Balkan area and last season in Switzerland, Austria (also Vienna), and a short stint in Spain.

Rakocevic has played an unfortunate season so far fighting through back problems. The back problems may be the reason of his diminished stats if you compare them to last year’s stats in the ABL (17.6 ppg and 13.8 rpg). Rakocevic had the dubious honor of leading the league in turnovers with 3.3 per game.

I thought that Rakocevic played better leagues. Maybe it was another one.
