Vitor Faverani leaves Boston Celtics

Vitor FaveraniVitor Faverani (211 cm) has left the Boston Celtics after being cut by the NBA franchise after injury cut short his stay. The Brazilian player signed a new $2 million deal with the Celtics this summer but was injured during the pre-season. He played for the franchise during the 2013/2014 season and from 37 games the center averaged 4.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Faverani was also farmed out to the Maine Red Claws for four games and he impressed with numbers of 19.0 points, 11.0 boards, and 3.0 assists per game.

Before heading to the NBA, Vitor Faverani played in the Spanish top flight, hitting the hardwood over two seasons with Valencia and two seasons with Murcia.
