Trey Thompkins to Nizhny Novgorod

Russian club BC Nizhny Novgorod (Russia-VTB) is welcoming Trey Thompkins (208 cm, Georgia’11) into their fold for the 2014-15 season. The 24-year-old Thompkins is embarking on becoming an international player after playing two seasons for the Los Angeles Clippers. In 2012-13 Thompkins’ career took a big blow when he missed the season with a bone bruise in his knee. He was waived by the club on May 2013. Trey played for the Lakers during this year’s Vegas Summer league, but unfortunately he did not get signed by the team. His rookie season with the club (2011-12) saw Trey average 2.4 ppg and 1.0 rpg in 24 games for the Clippers.
