Trey Johnson inks deal with Marinos

Trey Johnson (196 cm, Jackson State’07) is headed to Venezuela to join the Marinos de Anzoategui (LPB) for the 2013-14 season. Johnson is an American player who also holds a Qatari passport. He was a member of the Qatari National Team in 2012. The Marinos are currently 9-3 in the Final Stage of the Venezuelan LPB.

In 2012-13 Trey played in Italy’s Serie A for Angelico Biella. He suited up and played in 22 games for them and averaged 16.4 ppg and 3.4 rpg. In 2011-12 he spent some time playing for the New Orleans Hornets and in 11 games averaged just 1.9 ppg and 1.1 rpg. He was released by the team in January 2012 and in March moved to the Bakersfield Jam of the D-League. He played in 15 games for the Jam and averaged 13.3 ppg and 3.2 rpg.
