Tony Mitchell opts for Jilin Tigers

Tony Mitchell (198 cm, Alabama’12) is staying in Asia, signing a deal with Chinese CBA team Jilin Northeast Tigers. He just finished a six-game stint in the Philippines playing for the Talk N’ Text Tropang Texters for the PBA Governor’s Cup. He averaged 35.0 ppg and 10.7 rpg as he led his team to the semifinals of the conference.  He was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in the second round (37th) in the 2013 NBA Draft.

He played his rookie season as a pro in the NBA D-League where he suited up for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. In 50 games he was able to put up averages of 22.1 ppg and 6.4 rpg.
