Teddy Gipson not fired, relieved of duties

Teddy Gipson

Teddy Gipson (193 cm, Arkansas’03) has not been fired by the Brose Baskets Bamberg as is widely reported. It is true that Teddy Gipson has come to an agreement with Bamberg to look for a different team. The versatile Gipson and successful coach Chris Fleming were not able to work out a role for Gipson that satisfied both, despite two months of effort by each party. Consequently it was agreed to look for a solution, one of which is a move to a different team. Meanwhile the 33 year old Gipson (birthday today) has been excused from practice and games until further notice.

In sixteen Euroleague games this season Teddy Gipson averaged 7.6 ppg and 2.1 apg in just over 20 mpg. The news of his new status with Bamberg has drawn much interest from many teams and Teddy is in the process of weighing the options with his agent.
