Spanish Liga Endesa: Top 4 Teams Claim Road Wins

Spanish Liga Endesa

While it was business as usual as far as wins and losses were concerned  in Round 8 of the regular season in the Spanish Liga Endesa, there was no shortage of exciting games to thrill fans in attendance. Cutting to the chase, most teams won at home with the exception of the league’s top four clubs, who managed to secure victories on the road. Competition is intense in this league, but it appears that these four clubs have set themselves apart and have risen to the top.

League leader Real Madrid defeated Baloncesto Sevilla 72-81, anchored once again on another excellent team effort. Despite foul troubles, Felipe Reyes led the visitors with 18 points. Real Madrid is still unbeaten with an 8-0 record.

Still in second place, FC Regal Barcelona came away with a win against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada, 64-79. This was an easy win for Barca as they dictated the game’s pace from start to finish. Ante Tomic had a massive game for them with a game-high 23 points. He was an unstoppable force in the paint as he was the focal point the offense for the night.

Unicaja Malaga dominated Valencia Basket en route to their 64-75 road win. The game looked good at the onset for the hosts who led 22-19 after the first period. The visiting club busted the game open in the second and third quarters to secure an ample lead. From there, they cruised to the win. Bilbao Basket had similarly convincing results as they visited Herbalife Gran Canaria 2014. They won the game handily by a 10-point margin, 60-70. Bilbao started off strong with a 8-22 first quarter explosion and Gran Canaria had to play catch-up for the rest of the game. Bilbao rode on the impressive double-double effort of Marko Todorovic who scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

FIATC Joventut Badalona eked out win in what was a very close 83-82 win over visiting Laboral Kutxa Vitoria. It was one of the more exciting contests for the evening as the team from Badalona trailed for the first three quarters and had to rally in the fourth period to snag the victory. Goran Suton led FIATC Joventut with 22 points and nine rebounds.

Here are the results of the other successful home stands:

Iberostar Tenerife CB Canarias vs. MoraBanc Andorra, 83-56
