Sean Cunningham heads to Groningen

The 2014 Dutch Eredivisie champions GasTerra Flames Groningen have added Sean Cunningham (188 cm, Cal-Riverside’10) for the 2014-15 season. Cunningham is an American player who also owns a Dutch passport. He has been a member of the Dutch National Team from 2012 to the present.

In 2013-14 Sean played for Zorg and Zekerheid Leiden (Netherlands-Eredivisie). He played six games for them in the EuroChallenge and averaged 11.0 ppg and 3.5 rpg. He also logged 44 games in the Dutch Eredivisie and there he averaged 10.7 ppg and 4.0 rpg. His team were Dutch Cup and Dutch Supercup Finalists in 2014. They also reached as far as the semifinals in the Eredivisie post-season.
