Raymond Cowels III joins Den Helder Kings

Raymond Cowels III (193 cm, Santa Clara’13) will begin his professional basketball career with The Bright Kings Den Helder from the Netherlands (Eredivisie) this 2013-14 season. The 22-year-old Cowels is said to be the last off-season acquisition of the team. Their roster is set and head coach Jean-Marc Jaumin can now begin planning for the upcoming season.

In Raymond’s senior year at Santa Clara (2012-13) he averaged 9.5 ppg and 4.3 rpg in 32 games. Santa Clara won the College Basketball Invitational postseason tournement by beating George Mason University (2-1) in the finals. In 2011-12 he averaged 10.2 ppg and 3.4 rpg.
