Pops Mensah-Bonsu to play in Spain

Former NBA big man, Pops Mensah-Bonsu (206 cm, George Washington’06) has been signed by Cajasol Banca Civica Sevilla from Spain’s ACB. He injured his knee when he played for England in the 2012 London Olympic games. After the injury, he soon parted ways with Maccabi Electra Tel-Aviv from Israel’s Winner League.

In 2011-12 he was part of the Turkish League Champions, Besiktas Istanbul, where he averaged 12.8 ppg and 7.8 rpg in 33 games. Pops also played 11 games in the EuroChallenge for Besiktas. There he logged averages of 18.5 ppg and 11.8 rpg.

He’s played in France, Spain, Russia and for several NBA teams such as the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Toronto Raptors, San Antonio Spurs, and the New Orleans Hornets.
