Partizan NIS Belgrade wins KLS in Game 4

Partizan NIS BelgradePartizan NIS Belgrade continued to dominate the Serbian KLS by winning the league title for the 13th consecutive season. The victory is even sweeter as it comes against arch-rival Crvena Zvezda Belgrade courtesy of an 87-95 overtime win on the road in Game 4 of the Finals series.

If there was any doubt why 21-year old shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic is being watched by the giants of Europe and a few NBA franchises, then it was expelled here. The youngster showed his star potential once again with a huge display that propelled Partizan NIS Belgrade to the title.

Crvena Zvezda Belgrade vs. Partizan NIS Belgrade, 87-95 OT
The hosts were looking to tie the series and send the KLS to a deciding game, and Crvena Zvezda got off to a good start by winning a tight first quarter 22-21. That was hardly a comfortable margin though and things did not get any clearer in the second frame as both teams traded throughout the stanza. The players headed into the locker room with the score at 36-35 in favor of the hosts. Red Star held onto that slight one-point lead throughout another tense third period, with nothing to suggest either team could pull ahead as the score was 52-51 with the fourth quarter to come. Partizan finally managed to win a frame and took the fourth quarter, but not by enough to win the game, sending Game 4 into overtime. In the extra frame, the hosts finally wilted and allowed Partizan to open a gap thanks to the scoring of Bogdanovic to win the game and the title.

Bogdanovic was sensational and capped a memorable season with 36 points and 6 rebounds for Partizan NIS Belgrade. Branko Lazic followed with 14 points, while DeMarcus Nelson matched that with 14 of his own.

A strong effort over four quarters for Crvena Zvezda Belgrade saw Charles Jenkins scores 16 points and Joffrey Lauvergne get the only double-double of the night with 15 points and 10 boards.
