Partizan

Adriatic League – After faltering with some recent losses, BC Partizan NiS Beograd (Serbia) finally turned things around with a critical 82-70 win over Radnicki Kragjevac (Serbia). The win gives Partizan a 15-7 record which currently secures their third-place position in the league standings and virtually locking in their ticket to the playoffs. They are still just six games behind league leader, Red Star (18-4).

The importance of this contest was clear in the minds of Partizan right from tipoff. They took an early lead thanks to some aggressive plays in the paint and did not look back. As each quarter ended Partizan improved on their ever-growing lead. They converted 10 more shots than Radnicki from two-point range for the game. Radnicki tried to execute their offense from afar, knocking down 11 of their 27 shots from beyond the arc, but it was not enough. Partizan also came away with the rebounding advantage over their opponents, grabbing nine more boards for a total of 36.

Partizan’s dominant performance was secured by a trio of their starters. American import Tarence Kinsey led their offense with 19 points. Domestic player Milenko Tepic  was a force down low with 17 points and nine boards. Frenchman Joffrey Lauvergne chipped in 16 points, while recently signed Sasha Pavlovic added 15 off the bench.

Swiss-Serbian player Dusan Mladjan led Radnicki’s three-point shooting party 13 points and four converted treys. The team’s leading scorer was Sava Levic who was also their top performer down low. He contributed 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the contest.
