Nolan Smith leaves Galatasaray

Former NBA guard Nolan Smith (187 cm, Duke’11) has been released by Galatasaray Liv Hospital Istanbul (Turkey-TBL). A few days ago he had a discussion with coach Ataman when he was substituted during a game. The American player played one game game for Galatasaray in the Euroleague and scored six points and grabbed three rebounds. He also played in two games of the Turkish League and scored 8 points in total. Nolan Smith was the Portland Trail Blazers’ first-round draft pick (21) in 2011. Smith played for KK Cedevita Zagreb (Croatia-A1) in 2013-14. He was an effective asset for them during their run in the Adriatic league, averaging 13.3 ppg and 3.3 apg in 28 games, helping them reach the Finals in 2014. He played 15 games for them in the Eurocup and averaged 16.3 ppg and 4.1 apg. Nolan logged 17 games in the domestic Croatian A1 league and there he posted averages of 13.8 ppg and 4.1 apg, helping them take down the Croatian league championship in 2014.
