Montengro claims GSSE Games gold

Montengro Montenegro won the title game over Iceland to be crowned the 2015 Games of Small States of Europe (GSSE) Basketball champions. Held every two years, the GSSE Games give smaller European nations the chance to compete on an even playing field and possibly taste some medal success. Montenegro overcame host nation Iceland in the final game with an impressive 84-102 display.

Iceland emerged in better defensive shape for the third quarter and managed to stop Montenegro at 15 points to make it interesting heading into the fourth quarter. However, the visitors merely went up another gear in the last period and snatched a cruising win that secured the GSSE Games.
