Martins Berkis deals with Bystrica

Martins Berkis (198 cm) is the second player added by Slovakian SBL club SKP Banska Bystrica this weekend. The Latvian is heading to the club alongside American newcomer Kevin Thompson. Berkis has played for BK Iskra Svit (Slovakia) in the top flight Extraliga so far this season and from 22 games he has averaged 10.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

The forward also played for Iskra Svit through the 2013/2014 season and through that campaign he played 45 games and logged 9.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per appearance.

Martins Berkis has a lot of experience in European Basketball, where he has played in Sweden, Estonia, Greece, and of course Latvia.
