Mario West decides on Formosa

Mario WestLa Union Formosa (Argentina, LigaA) has bolstered its mid-court with the addition of Mario West (195 cm, Georgia Tech’07) to the team roster. The American has most recently played the Governor’s Cup in the Philippines (PBA) where he represented Meralco Bolts. He played for the franchise six times and averaged well with 27.8 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game.

The guard took to the court for Fuerza Regia Monterrey (Mexico, LNBP) during the 2013/2014 season and through 22 games Mario West averaged 12.8 points, 4.4 boards, and 3.2 assists. He later moved to Maritime Boulogne (France, ProB) where he played ten times to averages of 8.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per appearance.

Mario West is well-travelled and has hit the hardwood in Europe, South America, Asia, and the USA, including a stint in the NBA. The 30-year old has worn the jersey of the New Jersey Nets, but is best known in the US for his time with the Atlanta Hawks. Mario West played 156 games for the franchise over three seasons before exploring his Basketball options in other regions of the world.
