Mardy Collins joins Guaros de Lara

Former NBA guard Mardy Collins (198 cm, Temple’06) has joined Guraos de Lara from Venezuela’s LPB. Collins has already logged two games for his new team and has put up averages of 12.5 ppg and 5.0 rpg.

Collins, who was selected by the New York Knicks in the first round of the 2006 draft (29th overall), began the 2012-13 season playing for Maccabi Ashdod from Israel’s Winner League. There he played 21 games and averaged 17.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, and 4.4 apg. Prior to his stint in Israel, Collins played for a couple of D-League teams, the Los Angeles D-Fenders and the Iowa Energy.
