Luigi Datome pens with Fenerbahce Ulker

Luigi Datome (203 cm) has agreed to a deal with Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul (Turkey-TBL) and will play for the Turkish club this 2015/16. Datome is a 27-year-old Italian player who has been a member of the Italian national team since 2007. Luigi tried his luck in the NBA in 2013/14 with the Detroit Pistons, but was never really able to carve out significant playing time and crack the rotation. He played 33 games and averaged 2.5 ppg and 1.4 rpg.

In 2014/15 he played three games for the Grand Rapids Drive (D-League) and averaged 13.3 ppg and 7.0 rpg. He was called back up to the NBA by the Pistons where he was able to play three games and average 3.7 ppg and 1.3 rpg. Later in the season he moved to the Boston Celtics where he played 21 games and averaged 4.7 ppg and 1.2 rpg.
