Leemire Goldwire moves up to Avellino

Leemire Goldwire (182 cm, Charlotte’08) will get a chance to prove he’s worth a shot in the big leagues after being called up by Sidigas Avellino (Italy-SerieA). Goldwire began the season playing in Italy’s lower league, DNA Gold, for Fileni BPA Jesi. Leemire was able to log a total of 18 games before signing with the Serie A team. He showed some talent on the offensive end for Fileni BPA Jesi as he posted averages of 21.6 ppg and 4.2 apg.

In January 2013 he signed with Macedonian team KK Fersped-Rabotnicki Skopje. He played just seven games before departing in April. Goldwire averaged 13.0 ppg and 3.1 apg.
